Yoga AS Therapy

As multi-dimensional creatures, typically when there’s pain and suffering in one layer of being, it’s likely impacting another layer, too. Therefore, the journey to reduce suffering and promote healing has a lot of “in-roads”. Which avenues work for you and how do you find out?

Yoga supports regulating and balancing interconnected systems: structural, physiological, mental and spiritual. With the tools of yoga, you’d explore what helps your circumstances, condition and situation.

Yoga therapy customizes the tools of yoga for YOU. It’s a recipe of practices curated specifically for your needs. As a yoga therapist, I’ll offer meaningful and functional practices adapted for your goals and lifestyle. Different than a group class, our 1:1 session is an opportunity to shed light what sparks you and determine how to best participate in your own healing.

One-hour session: $100
75-minute session: $125
90-minute session: $150

How it works

Schedule an exploratory and complementary 30min. consult. Contact me. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about yoga therapy and how it applies to your goals and needs. We’ll work together in a manner that’s convenient for you, in-person or virtual. You’ll receive customized, simple and functional practices to germinate small shifts that manifest healing and wellness in your life.

PHYSICAL

Want to fuel mobility or flexibility? Strength or good posture? Or, all of the above? Sessions are designed to meet the goals of the individual, taking into account structure, constitution, injury and/or other concerns. Consider 1:1 appointments as ways to educate yourself. Learn healthy movement techniques to move through life with integration, stability and grace.

Yoga Therapy is not Physical Therapy. It’s complementary. Both address an individual’s structure and anatomy, however Yoga Therapy addresses the underlying causes of chronic physical pain, tension, stiffness and suffering by taking into account the whole being including body, energy and mind. Physical Therapy primarily focuses on relieving acute injuries, pain points and/or structural issues.

Energetic

Everything is energy. As an energetic being, is your life set up for you to thrive? Fear, uncertainty, anxiety and stress can leave you feeling depleted. Depression and loneliness can bring about feelings of inadequacy, insecurity and worthlessness. Sessions are customized to reset the nervous system, boost the immune system and foster homeostasis. I create multi-week, goal-oriented programs that support meeting life as it flows rather than be overwhelmed by it.

Mental

The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it is open. Attachment to regret and worry can color the lens of your worldview. The grip of thinking ‘only-this’ or ‘it-has-to-be-that’ can cause a lot suffering. Suffering can manifest as physiological discomfort or physical tension. With the vast tools of yoga, I’ll customize a program to meet you where you are and take steps to empower agency and refuge within your own mind and heart.
