Stand Tall: Engage Your Mid-Back + Neck Muscles for Better Posture + Wellbeing

What: Does a slouched posture leave you feeling stiff in your upper back or shoulders, tense in your neck and/or closed off to the world? Misaligned posture due to our modern lifestyle is a real thing. Your breathing, nervous system and wellness are all affected by the placement of your shoulders, rib cage and head. Ideally, we want them to defy gravity and not be pulled forward by it. Your back body: mid-back and neck muscles are built-in powerhouses that are likely offline, under conditioned and under utilized.

When: Saturday February 8th from 1p-3:30p, in-person or virtual

Where: The Yoga Tree, 4250 Fremont Ave. Seattle WA 98103

Registration: $50; visit The Yoga Tree at https://www.yogatree.com/workshopsretreats.html

In this workshop, you’ll gain:

  • Understanding the role the spine – especially the mid-back/Thoracic spine – has on respiration, vitality and wellbeing

  • Understanding of the relationship your head and gravity have on your neck and posture

  • Conditioning of mid-back muscles to promote postural health

  • Conditioning of neck muscles and recalibration of upper spine posture for less tension and greater overall alignment

You’ll awaken the connections between your mid-back, neck, shoulders, arms and head as I lead you through exercises and a practice to support your posture and wellbeing. After this workshop, you’ll be ready to engage back body muscles, stand tall and integrate good postural habits into your digital world.
